Aristocrat Bowl by Chase Brass & Copper Co., 1930s, Art Deco Streamline

$150.00

A polished brass and copper Art Deco bowl manufactured by the Chase Brass & Copper Company of Waterbury, Connecticut, circa 1930s. Known in period catalogs as “The Aristocrat,” this piece was part of the celebrated Chase Modern Line (c. 1930–1942), produced by the Specialties Division during the Depression to bring contemporary design into the American home. Executed in copper with polished brass rests, the form is a classic example of streamline style — simple, functional, and modern.

Though originally marketed as an ashtray, today its sleek scale and elegant materials make it equally suited as a decorative bowl or catchall. The base is impressed “Chase” and bears the centaur stamp, a hallmark of quality. In good condition with a warm patina, it remains a superb example of American Art Deco design.

Dimensions: 5 in. W x 4 1/2 in. diameter x 1 1/4 in. H.
